What are the different types of valves?
Gate valve:
Gate valves are the most widely used type of valves in water supply systems. It consists of a wedge-shaped metal door that can be lowered to stop the water flow or lift it to allow the flow to continue. The gate valve cannot control the flow of water because it is designed to open or close all the way. If used to adjust the water flow will cause the valve to wear out. Butterfly valves:
